Paladin Tanking Gems Patch 3.3

According to polls the most favored tank to group with is the Paladin. Unlike the Death Knight and Druid, Paladins are able to wear a shield and block attacks like Warriors. Therefore, Block Rating and Strength play a factor in tanking. Unfortunately, there aren't currently gems that offer Block Rating, and the Stat Strength is so weak in comparison to the other stats for tanking, that we will mostly avoid using any.

Keep in mind that Strength adds attack power so while it may not be the best for tanking or the best for threat generation by itself, I could see people using it to serve both purposes in some weird way. Strength is a good stat to have, but not something good to go for with enchants or gems, unless you need it for something really specific.

That leaves Paladins with the ability to block, dodge, and parry for their mitigation.
